Tri-Series: Twitter reacts as India score 174/5 in the first T20I against Sri Lanka

India posted 174/5 in 20 overs in the first match of the Hero Nidahas Trophy. India was sent into bat first after Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bowl first.
The tourists made some changes to their playing XI as Vijay Shankar earned his first international cap in the first T20I. India made three changes from the side which last played against South Africa with Washington Sundar, Rishab Pant and Vijay Shankar making it to the playing XI.
The men in blue started poorly as they lost their opener and skipper for this series Rohit Sharma in the very first over for a duck. India received another blow in the second over as they lost their most experienced T20 batsmen, Suresh Raina in thevery next over.
However, these quick wickets did not hamper Shikhar Dhawan’s confidence who continued to play his shots. He was then accompanied by Manish Pandey who tried to cope up with the pace and scored a 35 ball 37.
Pandey was then removed by Jeevan Mendis while playing an attacking shot and was caught at mid-wicket.
Next came in Rishab Pant who tried to play his natural game but was unable to find some rhythm as he could hit just one six in his first 17 deliveries.
Dhawan and Pant were then involved in a 49 runs stand before the opener was dismissed for a well made 90.
Dinesh Karthik remained unbeaten on 13 while Pant scored a run a ball 23 .
In the bowling department, the Sri Lankan bowlers started well but lost the plot in the middle overs. Dushmantha Chameera picked up two wickets and Nuwan Pradeep picked up one wicket.
Jeevan Mendis and Danushka Gunathilaka also picked up one wicket each.

Rohit Sharma out on a duck against Sri Lanka. That's like a duck drowning in a pond.
