Ending all uncertainties surrounding his county stint, Virat Kohli, on Thursday, signed up for English county outfit Surrey.

The India skipper Kohli will be available for all cricket throughout the month of June until the close of Surrey???s away game to Yorkshire.

Kohli is having the county stint in order to prepare himself for the tough England tour scheduled later this year. Arguably the best batsman in the world right now, Kohli had cut a sorry figure when India toured England in 2014.

The then Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led side had lost the series 3-1 and Kohli was one of the worst performers. He averaged just 13.40 in ten innings with a top score of 39.

The 29-year old Kohli, however, has completely transformed as a batsman since that disastrous tour. The reigning ICC Player of the year averages more than 50 across formats of the game.

At such an age, Kohli has scored over 56 international centuries including six double tons in Tests. Another good performance in England will surely enhance his reputation as the best batsman in the world.

Virat Kohli expressed his delight over signing the deal:

???It has long been an ambition of mine to play county cricket and I am thankful to Alec Stewart and Surrey for allowing me the opportunity to join them during their 2018 season. I can???t wait to get to the Kia Oval,??? he said.

Meanwhile, Twitter was quick to react to the news.
