There had been a lot of talks regarding Dhoni’s ability to strike the ball, and his diminishing finishing credentials. The greatest wicket-keeper batsman had a point or two to prove that an ageing tiger still remains a tiger.

Pandey responded brilliantly to the situation and stitched a game-changing partnership with the champion at the other end. The two middle-order batsmen added 98 to the total to create a record for the fifth wicket partnership in T20I cricket.

MSD struck the ball at 182 tonight

Manish Pandey, after a sluggish knock at Wanderers, smashed an unbeaten 78 off 49 deliveries, with 6 boundaries and three sixes, at a strike rate of 164.

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni smashed his second T20I century with his unbeaten knock of 52 which came off just 28 balls. 17 of which came in the final five deliveries of the innings, which incidentally also was the highlight of the innings.

Often criticized for his slow knock, MS Dhoni struck the ball at 182 today in the second T20I. Needless to say, MSD’s epic knock, bringing back time, created quite a frenzy on Twitter.
