There is absolutely no stopping Shikhar Dhawan at the moment. The Delhi Capitals opener is continuing to pile up runs in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 as he registered yet another century in the ongoing game against Kings XI Punjab on Wednesday.
This was his second century in a row and in the process, he became the first-ever player to score back-to-back centuries in IPL. In his previous outing, he had played a match-winning knock of 101 not out against Chennai Super Kings. Having not managed a single fifty in his first six innings of the ongoing competition, the southpaw has now scored four fifty-plus scores in his last four innings while getting out just once.
Barring Shikhar Dhawan, none of the other Delhi Capitals batsmen managed to get going. Prithvi Shaw’s poor run of form continued as he managed to score only 7 from 11 balls while Rishabh Pant, who was returning from injury, scored 14 from 20.
The likes of Marcus Stoinis and Shreyas Iyer failed to get going too but Shikhar Dhawan made sure to guide his side to a good total. Soon after he reached his ton, the cricketing fraternity took to Twitter to laud him for his knock.
Here is how Twitter reacted to his knock:
You go Shikhar Dhawan. Historic batting, simply superb????????.

One of the reasons you always stay with Shikhar Dhawan, especially in white ball cricket, is that when he gets on a roll, he is unstoppable. And a genuine match winner.

Shikhar Dhawan has shown great maturity for someone who doesn’t even understand the meaning of One Tip One Hand. #KXIPvDC

Apart from Dhawan Delhi scored 58 runs in 59 balls. Pathetic

Shikhar Dhawan 106(61)
Others 58(59)The rest have ensured KXIP are still in the game. DC looked set for 180. 165 to win is very good effort. Excellent stuff, Shami. Please stay with the yorkers for long.

Back-to-back hundred for Dhawan. KL Rahul is furious, now he will have to bat longer than Mayank and Dhawan both. #IPL
