Once again, the Indian National Cricket Team fans have witnessed yet another failure from the willow of Virat Kohli in the ongoing tour of New Zealand. The flamboyant batsman once again failed to talk with the bat, which didn’t go well with the fans. As usual, they expressed their concerns over his form on social media.

After Prithvi Shaw and Cheteshwar Pujara had settled things in the middle, the fans expected Team India skipper, Kohli, to take the onus on his shoulders to help India post a big first-innings tally on the board. But, unfortunately, it wasn’t the case, as Kohli failed to put the bat on Tim Southee’s outswinger, which trapped him plumb in front of the wickets.

Surprisingly, Kohli opted for review despite being plumb in front. The replays suggested that the ball was crashing into the middle of the middle stump. As soon as Kohli lost his wicket, Ajinkya Rahane also missed the opportunity, which put India in troubled waters.

However, the young Hanuma Vihari alongside Pujara added 81-run partnership to settle things for India in the middle. But, Neil Wagner rattled the defence of Hanuma Vihari, which completely changed the complexion of the game. Pujara quickly followed him and the remaining batsmen never looked in control.

In the end, India managed to post 242 runs on the board with the help of 26-run stand by the last wicket of Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah. For New Zealand, Kyle Jamieson was the wrecker-in-chief with five wickets while Tim Southee and Trent Boult picked one wicket each.
