When everything seemed to be out of control of Indian team, Dinesh Karthik hit six on the final delivery to win the game for India as India chased down a target of 167.
He came in at a time when India needed 34 off 12.
Karthik had never done anything like this before but today, he stole the show with a six to hand Bangladesh another defeat.
He played an innings of 29* off just eight deliveries to emerge out as unlikely hero for team India.
A six on the final delivery saw India winning the Nidas Trophy 2018.
Earlier in the evening, After Batting first, Bangladesh posted a total of 116/8 on the board.
They did not have a good start as they lost both the openers on a score of 27 within first five overs.
They soon stuttered to a score of 68/4 in 10.1 over.
The run-rate was a problem for Bangladesh but Sabbir Rahman’s blitz in the later over was a big boon for the side.
He scored 77 off just 50 to steer Bangladesh to a competitive total.
Mehidy Hasan too played his part with the bat by scoring 1 off 7.
