Twitter Reactions: Ajinkya Rahane's Test berth in danger as he continues to disappoint

The Indian cricket team is probably going through one of the best phases in their cricket history when it comes to sheer dominance and outstanding form. The team is full of immensely talented individuals and has a perfect mix of senior and junior players providing the ideal balance required.
The extra-ordinary batting depth of the Indian line-up has been a nightmare for every opponent they have faced and moreover when they are in form. Skipper Virat Kohli has led by example in both the limited overs and the Test formats, and his gang has supported him brilliantly. From Shikhar Dhawan to Rohit Sharma, from Murali Vijay to Lokesh Rahul, from MS Dhoni to Hardik Pandya, everyone has been among a plethora of runs except for one.
Mumbai born batsman Ajinkya Rahane has been struggling with his form lately, and we are getting an example of the same in the ongoing Test series against Sri Lanka. With the 3rd Test taking place at the Feroz Shah Kotla, Rahane has failed to deliver once again. With scores of 9 and 10 in the first and the second innings respectively the batsman seems to be out of confidence. Rahane who is considered a perfect fit for the red ball game is in danger of losing his spot.
The first Test at the Eden Gardens Kolkata saw Rahane score four runs in the first innings while he went back for a duck in the second. As far as the Nagpur Test was concerned he only contributed two runs in India’s gigantic total of 610 runs. Things certainly do not look good for the 29-year-old considering the robust competition in the Indian side. However, the batsman will look to get his act correct as soon as possible to save his berth in the team. Here are some of the tweets directed towards Rahane’s poor form:
Virat Kohli is the perfect Captain Shifted his position Just For Ajinkya Rahane To Provide some confidence to him. But once again Rahane Failed. Not kohli's fault..#IndvSL

Whatever may be the batting form of Ajinkya Rahane, if he is not in the slips, all miss him #IndvSL

It's very harsh to see Ajinkya Rahane's poor form continues. He failed to deliver batting at number 3. But such a talented batsman he is, I am sure he will overcome the issue. @BCCI

Ajinkya Rahane's poor run of form is worrying for India. Hopefully he'll come good in South Africa- he plays better overseas anyway! #INDvSL #SAvIND

once M.S Dhoni said Ajinkya Rahane is best suited for playing away from home conditions.. i guess Rahane is proving him correct #INDvSL

Ajinkya Rahane has looked completely out of sorts in this series. His scores in this #INDvSL Test series: 4, 0, 2, 1, 10 #3rdTest

Ajinkya Rahane's 17 runs vs SL is the second lowest series tally for an Indian top order batsmen in a series (min five inngs) after Mohinder Amarnath's one run in six innings vs WI at home in 1983. #INDvSL

@BCCI replace Ajinkya Rahane with all-rounder Kuldeep Yadav in squad for South Africa.

Ajinkya Rahane please pack bag and play domestic cricket to improve batting average, forget oversea tour for next six month at least. If selected otherwise despite poor performance add Specialist Catching instead or batting #INDvSL #BCCI

Ajinkya Rahane named vice-captain for SA tour yesterday. Today promoted to no.3 to get some batting time in. Cannot be a further clearer indication of the team management's confidence in him. #IndvSL

Ajinkya Rahane getting out for the 6th time in this series cheaply. He has been promoted to No.3 ahead of Pujara… https://t.co/0cvjb44nkc
