England continued their winning run in the limited overs format against the Aussie after registering yet another comprehensive win to take a 2-0 lead in the five-match series. Despite yet another century from the blade of Aaron Finch, England completed a comprehensive victory courtesy some impressive all-round performances from most of the members of the team.
David Warner and Finch got off to a fifty runs partnership but just when they were going great guns a couple of wickets fell in quick succession. Joe Root unexpectedly was the pick of the English bowlers bagging a couple of wickets by conceding only 31 runs. Alex Carey smashed four boundaries during his quickfire knock of 27of 24 deliveries.
Australia eventually reached 270 in their allotted 50 overs. England lost Jason Roy pretty quickly, but the rest of the batsmen were up to the mark and never allowed the Aussies to have a stronghold on the match. Jonny Bairstow and Alex Hales shared a 117 runs partnership, and both scored 60 and 57 respectively in quick time. Bairstow smashed nine fours while Hales smashed seven fours and a six.
Joe Root scored a fluent 46 while Jos Buttler smashed a quickfire 42 of 32 deliveries which put England in command of proceedings. England eventually reached the target in the 45th over to take a 2-0 lead in the five-match series. Mitchell Starc was the pick of the Australian bowlers bagging 4/59 while Jhye Richardson also bagged a couple of wickets by giving away only 57 runs.
Twitterati was pretty active throughout the game and here are some of the best tweets which described the proceedings in the best possible manner
BTW, can anyone explain why Cameron White got selected if he was going to bat 7 when his MO is building steadily & then bashing after well set ? #<!---->A<!---->U<!---->S<!---->v<!---->E<!---->N<!---->G

The bad news for Aust is they look as tactically backward as they did at the 1992 World Cup. The good news for Aust is this isn't the World Cup … yet #<!---->A<!---->U<!---->S<!---->v<!---->E<!---->N<!---->G
