Kevin Pietersen, the former English batsman, came up with a cryptic tweet on COVID-19, hours after former Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar, tested positive for the virus. Notably, Sachin Tendulkar had announced on Saturday that he has tested positive for Coronavirus even after following all the necessary precautions.
Both, Sachin Tendulkar and Kevin Pietersen were a part of the Road Safety World Series which recently concluded in Raipur, Chattisgarh. While Sachin led the India Legends team in the tournament, Kevin Pietersen captained the England Legends side. Now, Pietersen’s tweet over COVID-19 has raised the eyebrows of a lot of people, including Yuvraj Singh.
Fans Fume On Twitter After Kevin Pietersen’s Cryptic Tweet On Coronavirus
On Saturday, master-blaster Sachin Tendulkar announced that he has been affected by the widespread coronavirus. However, the relieving news was the fact that all his other family members have tested negative for the virus. Arjun Tendulkar, Sachin’s son, is currently with the Mumbai Indians franchise after getting his maiden bid in the IPL this year.
After Sachin’s tweet, Pietersen came up with a cryptic tweet as he took to Twitter and wrote, “Can someone please tell me, why you need to announce it to the world, that you have Covid?!”
Can someone please tell me, why you need to announce it to the world, that you have Covid?! ??♂️

After this tweet, Indian fans all across the globe fired shots at Pietersen for his comments. In fact, former Indian cricketer, Yuvraj Singh was also involved among the people who questioned Pietersen’s intent behind the tweet.
And how come you thought of this today and not before ? ?

So those who came in contact with you can get themselves checked, and as it is a sly on SRT mind your own business kevin!!

So that people who have met you or came in close contact with you can get tested ? For celebrities like you, they meet so many people, personally reaching out is difficult.
— Kartavya Ramnani (@KartavyaRamnani) March 27, 2021
So those who met them get themselves tested and dont roam outside and get infected others. It's for minimizing the spread.

So Sachin Got Positive and We get a tweet like this from you? Really unexpected 🙁
Anyways: Let me clear your doubt; It's done to inform all the people you have met recently because It's not possible to inform everyone individually. It's common sense, I think.— Rahul Dogra (@rahulsimpact) March 27, 2021
After seeing the reaction of the fans, Kevin Pietersen had to come up with a clarification. He took to Twitter and wrote, “It was a pretty simple & harmless question, on why many people announce they have Covid on all sorts of SM platforms. The answer around informing people, so people who know they’ve been in contact with that person and must now get tested, makes perfect sense! Thank you!”
The Indian Legends won the tournament that took place in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Notably, Sachin Tendulkar caught the virus after returning back home. Had he tested positive during the tournament, the tournament would have come to a standstill. However, with COVID-19 tests on a regular basis and bio-bubbles in place, it is clear that Sachin has tested COVID positive after returning back home.
