Leg-spinner Adil Rashid once again broke Indian fans’ hearts as he once again got the better of skipper Virat Kohli [66] to deny him his 44th ODI and 71st International hundred.

The leg-spinner could have had Virat earlier in the innings but for stand-in skipper and wicketkeeper Jos Buttler, who missed an easy catch.

Buttler, however, did not make the same mistake twice as Virat knicked off against Adil Rashid on the sixth ball of the 32nd over.

Just like the first ODI, it was a dismissal that came against the run-of-play as Virat Kohli was looking unflappable at the crease.

The Indian captain who had come to the crease following the early dismissal of opener Shikhar Dhawan, breezed his way to get another half-century.

This was Virat’s fourth consecutive 50+ score in ODI cricket and it’s the seventh time in his decorated career that he has scored four or more 50+ total.

But just as it looked like the Indian captain will finally break the drought, Adil Rashid once again- 9th time- claimed his man to not only break the hearts of Indian fans but also break the 121-run-stand between Virat and KL.

It’s now 489 days since Virat Kohli’s last international hundred. During this period, he has scored 1639 runs in 43 innings across formats at an average of 44.29 with 17 50-plus scores.
