Former Indian all-rounder and the current head coach of the Indian Cricket Team, Ravi Shastri, has heaped high praise on Ravindra Jadeja for his freakish all-round performance against the Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore in Mumbai on Sunday.
Jadeja, on Sunday, was on an absolute rampage across all three facets of him and as Virat Kohli admitted in the post-match presentation, his team was beaten by a one-man army.
Coming into bat at the backend of the innings, Ravindra Jadeja was dropped by Daniel Christian when he was 0. And, the southpaw made the most of that reprieve as he laid in Harshal Patel in the final over to smoke him for as many as 36 runs [+ no-ball] to help CSK rack up 4/191 in 20 overs.
He wasn’t done though by any stretch of the imagination. The champion all-rounder then proceeded to bowl a match-winning spell in which he gave away just 13 runs in four overs besides claiming the prized scalps of Glenn Maxwell and AB de Villiers.
And, if all of this wasn’t enough, Ravindra Jadeja then proceeded to run-out Dan Christian with a pin-point direct hit. Jadeja became just the second Indian to score a 50 and take 3+ wickets, the first being Hardik Pandya.
Needless to say that the Ravindra Jadeja was adjudged the ‘Player of the Match’ for his all-round brilliance and post the game, Ravi Shastri took to his official Twitter account to hail the champion cricketer.
”Not for nothing we call him Gary Jadeja. Sheer brilliance – @imjadeja”- wrote Ravi Shastri.
