Twitter Reacts As Australia Cruise To A Comfortable Win Against India

Australia hammered India in the first ODI by 10 wickets as the visitors chased down 256 with great ease on Tuesday at Wankhede, Mumbai. The Indian team posted a paltry score after they were put in to bat by Aaron Finch. David Warner smashed his 18th ODI century whereas skipper Aaron Finch scored his 16th ODI ton as the visitors made a mockery of Indian bowling line-up.
Both Warner and Finch were able to hit the ground running and brought the hundred runs partnership in the 13th over. The attacking batsmen were able to time the ball to perfection and had no issues in hitting the Indian bowlers to all corners of the park.
Australia was too good for India.
Kuldeep Yadav caused some trouble to Aaron Finch in his maiden over as he produced two top edges which landed in no man’s land. However, apart from that, both the Australian openers just obliterated the Indian bowling line-up. The hosts’ bowlers had no answers and both the batters didn’t provide any chance to them.
Both the batters played all around the ground and even Jasprit Bumrah could not crack the code to dismiss any of them.
Earlier in the day, the visitors got off to a good start as they got the big wicket of Rohit Sharma in the fifth over. The right-hander was looking to clear mid-on but got a bottom edge which was neatly taken by David Warner. Subsequently, Rahul was promoted to number three position.
Dhawan struggled to rotate the strike in the initial phase but he was able to find his timing soon after. On the other hand, KL Rahul was also able to continue his good form as he kept scoring at almost run-a-ball.
However, just when Rahul and Dhawan were getting India into a position of dominance, the former had a soft dismissal. The right-hander was looking to clear the mid-wicket fielder but hit the ball straight to Steven Smith. Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul posted a good alliance of 121 runs. India lost its way after that as they lost wickets in a cluster and could not get to 255.
Here is how Twitter reacted to Australia’s win:
Total domination by the Aussies at Wankhede today.. Great innings @AaronFinch5 @davidwarner31 congratulations @CricketAus I am sure our boys in blue will come back stronger in Rajkot #INDvAUS #realchallange

Excellent day for Australia. Came back after Rahul Dhawan stand and bowled very well. Then superb batting and had all luck they would need. Finch to Kuldeep could have been out 8 times. This is sport: you cant anything for granted. Indian bowling not taking 1 wicket is proof.

How do you check whether you are a stable person or not ? If you are abusing Indian team and saying bizzare things on social media just now you need to start meditation and take help. If you are not that means you are sorted 🙂 #INDvAUS

There are seven 200-plus partnerships by Australian openers in ODIs. @AaronFinch5 has been part of four of them, the most. #INDvAUS

In India, you don't have to get into line. Stay leg-side and manufacture room. Both these batsmen, especially Warner is a master at it #INDvAUS

As things stand, India are heading for only their SECOND EVER defeat by 10 wickets in a ODI at home. The first time it happened was against South Africa in 2005.#INDvAUS https://t.co/Sfl4Gql5O1

Don’t remember India being dominated in an ODI at home in this fashion by two batsmen since AB de Villiers and Faf du Plessis (following a ton from de Kock) destroyed their bowlers right here at Wankhede in 2015 #INDvAUS

Australia have been magnificent. With bat, and especially with ball. For India, a game to forget.

Just from a psychological point of view we need 1 wicket.
