Pakistan, on Friday (July 13), steamrolled Zimbabwe by 201 runs to go one nil up in the five-match One-day International series. Imam-ul-Haq???s century propelled them to 308 for seven before Shadab Khan???s 4-wicket haul helped them skittle the hosts for a paltry total 107 in 35 overs.

Zimbabwean skipper Hamilton Masakadza???s decision to bowl first backfired. Tendai Chatara and Blessing Muzarabani tested Fakhar Zaman and Imam in the overcast conditions but could not get a breakthrough.

As the Zimbabwe bowlers bowled on a good line, Pakistan could manage only 36 at the end of the first powerplay.

The openers, however, managed to hang on to give Pakistan a good start. Imam completed his fifty off 75 balls while Zaman took 57 balls for the same.

The duo added 113 runs before Liam Roche sent back Zaman for 60 after facing 70 deliveries. Imam, on the other hand, kept on scoring runs. He went on to complete his century off 109 balls and had struck nine fours in the process.

Babar Azam and Shoaib Malik were dismissed cheaply but Pakistan found another positive when their own ODI debutant Asif Ali struck four fours and a couple of sixes in an innings of 46.

Ali???s cameo helped Pakistan to cross the 300-run mark and set the hosts a challenging target.

In reply, Zimbabwe never looked in contention to chase down the big total. Even before the conclusion of the fourth over, they were reeling at 11 for two with Brian Chari and Masakadza back in the hut.

However, Chamu Chibhabha and Tarisai Musakanda then steadied the ship for a while. However, the floodgates opened once Faheem Ashraf ended the 34-run stand by dismissing Musakanda.

The hosts kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and were eventually all out for 107.
