Finally, the New Zealand Cricket Team broke the barriers to win it against the Indian National Cricket Team. The incredible batting display by Ross Taylor, Tom Latham and Henry Nicholls helped New Zealand to take 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series.
After losing the toss, the new openers Mayank Agarwal and Prithvi Shaw started things pretty well with fifty-run partnership for the first wicket. However, both the batsmen walked back in quick time to help the hosts. But, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer steadied the ship with 102- run partnership for the third wicket.
Just when things looked in control of India, Ish Sodhi bowled a brilliant googly to get rid of Virat Kohli, which helped New Zealand to stage a comeback. However, Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul displayed their class to help India post a massive score on the board. During the course, Shreyas Iyer scored his maiden century while KL Rahul scored an unbeaten 88.
Ross Taylor, Tom Latham guide India to victory:
Chasing 348 runs, New Zealand got a good opening partnership with Martin Guptill and Henry Nicholls adding 85 runs for the opening wicket. Though Guptill was dismissed, Henry Nicholls continued his class in the middle. He added 152-run partnership before Virat Kohli dismissing Nicholls with his fielding brilliance.
Ross Taylor took fast bowlers to the cleaners while Tom Latham showed his class against the spinners to make the chase look pretty easy in the middle. It was Kuldeep Yadav and Shardul Thakur, who had a pretty ordinary day with the ball.

And also, Tom Latham stood tall with Ross Taylor, who found the boundary fence more often than not. The duo stitched 138 to help New Zealand draw the first blood of the 3-match series. Ross Taylor finished with 109* runs while Tom Latham scored 69.
Here are a few tweets:
This is as good a partnership as you can see in white ball cricket in the middle overs. Taylor and Latham have played with no opposition. India just haven't had the bowler to control this phase.

Carnage now. India's bowling posing no questions. Taking punches like a boxer who is dazed.

What an innings from #TomLatham. What a partnership.
Excellent demonstration of how to take advantage of a small ground, where there is no room for error.
Remember, India had batted on this surface and ground as well. They did well. Latham and Taylor just did better.#NZvIND

Unfortunate Navdeep Saini, despite winning the Man of the Series in the last ODI series, doesn't find a spot in this team, he is a wicket taking bowler, who breaks partnerships. A bits & pieces bowler like Shardul will get a wicket when a batsman tries to hit him for the 3rd six.

Shardul Thakur has become ABD of bowlers.

Brilliant kohli thinks he will Win matches with shardul thakur as batsman 1 in 10 matches but don't think he will loose 9 out of 10 shardul thakur as bowler.. Pathetic captaincy

No Offense But Tim Southee Should Stick to Test Cricket From Now On & Let Other Guys Play LOIs.We Saw that In the T20 Series as Well,By no Means He's a Death Overs Bowler & also On a Flat Deck He's Gonna Conceede So Many Runs. Just an Opinion#NZvIND #INDvNZ
