ICC Under-19 World Cup-winning captain Prithvi Shaw, who visited the residence of Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray, received an assurance from the latter who would now look after the former’s household woes.

According to Thackeray, Shaw made Mumbai proud and should concentrate on his game rather than about his house.

Coming from a humble background, Shaw has made it big internationally through his performances at the first-class level.

The teenage prodigy scored heaps of runs in recently culminated Ranji Trophy season after gaining prominence during the 2016-17 first-class edition where he smashed a ton on his debut in the finals of the prestigious tournament.

Since then, Shaw did not look back and smashed tons in all notable tournaments at the domestic level, going on to the lead the young Indian Colts to victory in the recently concluded ICC U19 World Cup in New Zealand.

Therefore, he was felicitated by Shiv Sena lynchpin Uddhav Thackeray for bringing laurels to the city of Mumbai in presence of Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao.

“Prithvi Shaw should concentrate on his game and not worry about a house. We will not let him face any difficulty,” Thackeray said.

“I do not have words to describe Prithvi’s achievements. He has made us proud,” Thackeray added during the felicitation ceremony at his residence ‘Matoshree’ in suburban Bandra.

Earlier Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Potnis met with the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to demand Prithvi Shaw be provided with a house in Mumbai. Earlier, Shaw used to reside at Virar locality in Mumbai before Potnis made arrangements for him to put up at SRA colony in Vakola.

Also felicitated Aditya Thakre from Indian squad & bowling coach Paras Mhambrey,” confirmed Fadnavis with a tweet later.
