After India’s senior team won the Asia Cup, the young boys were also able to follow the big boy’s footsteps. India Under-19 team won the Asia Cup by defeating Sri Lanka by a gargantuan margin of 144 runs. PrabhSimran Singh won the toss and decided to bat first. The Indian colts were able to post a total of 304-3 in their allotted 50 overs.
Anuj Rawat and Yaisasvi Jaiswal got India off to a great start as the opening pair were able to put a good partnership of 121 runs. Rawat scored a fine 57 whereas Jaisawal continued his good form with the bat. Jaiswal scored a fine knock of 85 runs. However, the southpaw batsman was unfortunate to miss out on a hundred as the ball was missing the leg stump.

Meanwhile, the Under-19 skipper PrabhSimran Singh and Ayush Badoni were able to provide finishing touches to the innings. Both the right-hander brought some fireworks in the end as they launched their attack on the opposition.
Singh scored a quickfire 65 off just 37 balls as his knock included three fours and four sixes. On the other hand, Ayush Badoni scored a blistering 52 off just 28 balls. Thus, India was able to score more than 100 runs in the last ten overs.

Meanwhile, southpaw spinner Harsh Tyagi was the chief destroyer of the Sri Lankan innings. The left arm tweaker was able to scalp six wickets. Tyagi was right on the money with his line and length as he didn’t let the opposition batsmen off the hook.
Therefore, it was a clinical performance from the India Under-19 junior team. Thus, the future is full of promise for Indian cricket.
India were the champions in the 2016 editions as well and this is their sixth Asia Cup Under-19 title.
