USA's Jan Nisar Khan Banned for Two Matches for Breaching ICC Code of Conduct

The United States of America’s player Jan Nisar Khan has received a two-match suspension for breaching the ICC code. Nisar Khan received four demerit points during the ICC Cricket Division Three match against Singapore. The match took place in Oman on Monday.
Khan was found to have violated Article 2.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “showing dissent at an umpire’s decision during an international match”.
The incident took place in the 26th over of the USA batting innings. Jan Nisar Khan was not happy with the umpire decision after been adjudged out and showed his frustration. In fact, he gave a piece of his mind to the standing umpire and used abusive language with the umpire.

Furthermore, Khan pleaded not guilty of his actions. Thus, there was a need for a formal hearing. Tournament referee T. Narayanan Kutty found the player guilty of the charge and handed him two suspension and four demerit points.

The charge was levelled by match officials Akbar Ali Khan, Rahul Asher and Vinay Kumar Jha. The USA player was found guilty of the Level 2 charge. The Level 2 charge generally includes a fine of 50-100% match fees. Furthermore, two suspension and three-four demerit points can be levied on the player.

Meanwhile, ICC had recently said that is looking to tighten the screws for the penalties on the players. Thus, the players should be cautious in their approach as their poor temper can land their team in trouble.
