Veda Krishnamurthy Conferred With Ekalavya Award In Karnataka Star Sports Awards

Veda Krishnamurthy, the Indian Women Cricket team’s batting all-rounder, has been conferred with the prestigious Ekalavya Award in the Karnataka Star Sports awards on Sunday.
Krishnamurthy, who has been one of the vital cogs of the Women in Blue for a number of years, was honored was with thr prestigious award for her immense contribution to both Karnataka and women’s cricket.
The batting all-rounder has thus far represented Team India in 48 One-day Internationals and 76 shortest format games in which she has scored 825 and 879 runs respectively.
As far as her exploits for Karnataka is concerned, Veda Krishnamurthy has played 38 List A and 36 Twenty20 matches, racking up 679 and 693 runs respectively. She was the part of the Indian team that reached the finals of the 2017 50-over World Cup and 2020 T20 World Cup in England and Australia respectively.
Among other recipients, veteran cricketer Shanta Rangaswamy was conferred with the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ for her immense contribution towards both Karnataka and Indian cricket.
The last time the Star Sports Karnataka award was announced in January 2018, post which the ceremony was postponed due to the prevailing political instability in the state.
As far as Veda Krishnamurthy is concerned, the all-rounder is currently in the United Arab Emirates to feature in the upcoming Women’s T20 League between November 04-09.
