Not many can celebrate any dismissal or any other milestone on a cricket field better than Shahid Afridi. Now one can add Veda Krishnamurthy to the list. The former Pakistan skipper’s trademark arms-raised-fingers-pointing-towards-the-sky-feet-apart celebration is one of the most famous sights on the cricket field.

Well, Indian women team star Veda Krishnamurthy recently tried to imitate the Pakistan allrounder on the cricket field. The 25-year old, who is currently plying her trade for Hobart Hurricanes in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL), imitated Afridi’s trademark celebration after dismissing Brisbane Heat’s Deandra Dottin.

Later, the right-handed batswoman took to Twitter to post the photo of her celebration along with the caption:

“Did I just do a @SAfridiOfficial ?? how gud is that? ??!!! ??? #feelswhenutakeawicket ?? @hobarthurricanes”

Veda then got the verdict on her celebration from none other than Afridi himself as the 37-year old was quick to praise the India allrounder and advised her to work harder.

“Good try, work harder and more importantly keep taking wickets you’ll get there ?,” Afridi wrote.

Flattered by Afridi’s tweet, Veda replied:

Meanwhile, just a day after doing a Shahid Afridi, Veda grabbed the headlines again after taking a stunning catch to dismiss Brisbane Heat’s Beth Mooney. Stationed at the deep square leg, Veda ran towards her right to complete a stunning low-handed catch before being mobbed by her teammates.

Here is a clip of that stunner:
