"1 Rupee Ki Pepsi, Iyer Bhai Sexy" Watch: Shreyas Iyer Shares Hilarious Video Of Fans Cheering For Him

Shreyas Iyer, who has been out of action for quite a while after suffering a shoulder dislocation in the first ODI against England in Pune, shared a video on his Instagram account in which fans can be heard chanting  “1 Rupee Ki Pepsi, Iyer Bhai Sexy” during a match against Australia in Australia.

Iyer was supposed to captain the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the IPL 2021 but instead underwent surgery for his shoulder. He hurt his limb while diving to stop a ball during the first India-England ODI match which was played at the MCA Stadium in Pune, Maharashtra.

This led to him missing the entire IPL 2021, as DC named Rishabh Pant the captain of the team and he led the Delhi franchise to the top spot in the IPL 2021 points table before the BCCI and IPL governing council were forced to suspend the tournament due to COVID-19 breaching the teams’ bio-bubbles, infecting more than 4 players, 2 coaches, and several support staff members.

Shreyas Iyer had taken over as DC captain mid-tournament in 2018 and led them to the playoffs in the IPL 2019 after quite a period of lull in between. Then in IPL 2020, which was held in the UAE, Delhi Capitals removed the monkey off their backs, as they played their maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) final.

Shreyas Iyer starred with the bat scoring 519 runs in 17 matches at an average of over 34.60 with a highest score of 88*.  He has also forged a successful career in the Indian white-ball team with 813 ODI runs in 22 matches with 8 half-centuries and one century, along with 550 runs in 29 T20Is with 3 half-centuries.

Meanwhile, as he recovers from his shoulder surgery, Iyer has found something great about himself. He shared a video in which some fans during a match between India and Australia in Australia are heard chanting “1 Rupee Ki Pepsi, Iyer Bhai Sexy” as the Mumbaikar fields on the boundary ropes in Sydney Cricket Ground.

Iyer called this his favorite chant and also mentioned that he cannot wait to get back into action.
