Chennai Super Kings (CSK) pacer Deepak Chahar hilariously walked away from the dugout after skipper MS Dhoni almost hit him while doing shadow batting during the 24th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

CSK pounded RCB by 8 runs in the match to mark their third win of the season. It was collective batting and bowling performance from their end and they first piled up massive 226 runs and then restricted the opposition to a total of 218 runs.

While their batting and bowling performance was something to praise, an incident took place that left many in splits. During the CSK’s innings, when their batters were going great guns, skipper MS Dhoni padded up too. But before coming out of bat he did shadow batting in the dugout.

In the video that went viral on the internet, Dhoni can be seen doing shadow batting in front of Deepak Chahar. As the keeper-batter brought the bat close to the pacer, he walked away silently because of the fear of getting hit.

“When you come to Bangalore, you know it’s a good wicket. Early part of IPL you get a lot of dew. You want to start well and then alter whatever is there in your mind. It was slightly tacky to start off. It’s important to go through that and then look to accelerate. We kept it simple and tried to get as much as possible in the second half of the game.”

Chennai Super Kings will be next seen in action when they lock horns against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their next game on Friday (21st April).
