PAK vs AUS: Watch - Babar Azam Denies Alex Carey His Maiden Test Century; Takes Only His 2nd Test Wicket

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam stunned the Australian team late in the day as he dismissed wicket-keeper batter, Alex Carey, while the latter was batting on 93 on Day 2 of the Karachi Test.
It is Babar’s second wicket in Tests and a moment that Carey would like to forget, considering how well he played for each run. It was the dying moments in the day when the shoulders on the Pakistan team were dropping when Carey played a forgettable shot.
With just three overs remaining and not wanting to be stranded overnight, Carey opted to take the aggressive route and swept hard at a full delivery from Babar. Unfortunately for him, it crept through right under the willow and crashed into the stumps, leaving Babar elated.

It was only the second Test wicket and one that came after three months since Babar took his first wicket against Bangladesh. Nevertheless, Carey’s knock propelled the Aussie total past the 500-run mark and with an option to declare soon.

On another day of attritional cricket, it was the Aussies who continued to pile on the runs. Usman Khawaja continued from where he left off and helped himself to 160 before being dismissed.

He was well supported by the lower-middle order, which chipped in with cameos and hung around to frustrate the Pakistanis. At the end of the day, the visitors had reached 505/8 with Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins at the crease.
