Watch: Team India Players Observe A Minute Of Silence In Memory Of Late Singer, Lata Mangeshkar

Team India walked out to play the first ODI against the West Indies in Ahmedabad with a black armband in memory of the late singer, Lata Mangeshkar, who passed away at the age of 92 on Sunday.
Before the start of play, the players lined up to observe a minute of silence to pay their respects to the legendary singer, who was hospitalized for nearly a month before passing away.

The BCCI shared a video of the cricketers on its social media handle, with the caption: “#TeamIndia members observe a minute silence before the start of play to pay their respects to Bharat Ratna Sushri Lata Mangeshkar ji. #RIPLataJi.”

India was on top in the first hour, as they nipped out three West Indian wickets inside the first fifteen overs. Mohammed Siraj dismissed Shai Hope after being struck for two boundaries.

Washington Sunday, the powerplay specialist, was brought into the attack in the 8th over and he bowled a tremendous spell, including a double-wicket 12th over. He got both Brandon King and Darren Bravo to leave Windies reeling at 45/3.
