Virat Kohli’s indifferent form in international cricket continued in the series opener of the five-match T20I series against England as the Indian captain registered his second consecutive duck.

Batting first, Team India got off to a horrendous start as they lost opener KL Rahul in just the second over of the game after the stylish batsman chopped it onto his stumps while trying to drive Jofra Archer.

Virat Kohli had said in the pre-match press conference that fans will get to see an aggressive approach from the batting-unit during the T20I series.

And, we saw that approach during the five balls that he faced. He tried to play an un-Kohli slog against Jofra Archer rather unsuccessfully.

His downfall eventually came in the very next over after he tried to smash Adil Rashid over mid-off by backing away from the crease. However, he couldn’t time his shot the way he would have liked and ended up hitting it straight to Chris Jordan.

After Virat Kohli’s dismissal, Rishabh Pant played a few enterprising strokes- none better than the reverse-sweep for six off Jofra Archer- but India were dealt with another blow after Shikhar Dhawan lost his stumps courtesy of a wild hoike across the line.
