Bhuvneshwar Kumar eventually had the last laugh as he knocked over England opener Jason Roy on the last ball of the first over of the innings after having been smashed for three boundaries in the first five balls.

Chasing 330 to win the third ODI and the series, Jason Roy once again came out all guns blazing as he took the attack to India’s premier bowler.

Roy, however, stroked all the three boundaries away from his body and that eventually led to his downfall as the champion seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar knocked him over.

Roy was frozen at the crease and the ball came back into the right-hander to peg back his stumps.

Roy’s dismissal is the first time that India has managed a wicket in the powerplay in this series.

In the last two games, the Indian new ball bowlers failed to get wickets in the first ten which eventually paved way for the duo of Roy and Bairstow to smash back-to-back hundred-run-stands.

At the time of writing, Ben Stokes had already smashed a couple of boundaries in the eight balls that he has faced but Bhuvneshwar has struck back with another crucial scalp of Jonny Bairstow, who has been trapped leg-before-wicket.
