Jhulan Goswami walked in to bat in the 40th over of the Indian innings after the dismissal of Pooja Vastrakar on the last ball of the 39th over. As she came out of the dugout the England players were ready to give her a guard of honour. Also, the bowling great was greeted by the crowd with applause. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) took to Twitter to applaud Jhulan Goswami and share a video of the English players giving her a guard of honour.

“For over 20 years Jhulan Goswami has run in, hit a length and blazed a trail. She has bowled nearly 10,000 balls in ODI cricket, and she may just have inspired as many young girls to try cricket. Thanks @JhulanG10, you’re an inspiration,” the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) tweeted.

The 39-year-old Goswami didn’t have the outing that she might have expected in her last international innings with the bat as she was castled by the 17-year-old Freya Kemp for a golden duck. After the dismissal, Jhulan Goswami was quick to put her down and walk off without looking at anyone back to the dressing room and she received a standing ovation from the Indian dressing room.
