Team India became the first team to win the match despite losing the toss and batting first thanks to a brilliant display of change-of-pace bowling by the likes of Shardul Thakur, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Hardik Pandya.

Hardik Pandya, who has struggled with the bat in the ongoing series, has been a revelation with the ball in what is his first stint as a bowler after a long layoff.

With India playing just five bowlers, Hardik Pandya has been absolutely brilliant, ensuring that the dangerous strategy of going with just five bowling options does not backfire.

Hardik- the bowler- was at his imperious best- in the series-decider in Ahmedabad as he registered the best bowling figures of his T20I career. Pandya used the change of pace and slower bouncers to brilliant effect as he gave away just 16 runs in his four overs besides claiming two wickets.

His second wicket of the innings came on the final delivery of what was an outstanding over by the all-rounder where he befuddled Chris Jordan and Sam Curran with a series of slow bouncers and cutters.

He was eventually rewarded with the wicket of Sam Curran, who saw his stumps shattered after he failed to connect the attempted hoike off yet another cutter by the pacer.

And, the all-rounder proceeded to give a wink send-off to his counterpart, Sam Curran.
