SunRisers Hyderabad swashbuckling wicketkeeper-batsman Jonny Bairstow looked at his imperious best during his whirlwind knock of 22-ball 43 against the Mumbai Indians.
Opening the innings for the first time in IPL 2021, Bairstow made the powerplay count as he laid into the likes of Trent Boult and Adam Milne, so much so that he didn’t even spare the refrigerator kept in the dug-out.
It all happened during the 3rd of the SunRisers Hyderabad laid into Trent Boult as he smashed 18 runs which included three fours and one sixes.
After having thumped Boult for consecutive fours, the Kiwi pacer bowled a slower delivery outside off stump and the English swashbuckler proceeded to pick the bones out of it to smash it over wide long-off.
The only issue was that the ball proceeded to smash the fridge kept in the SunRisers Hyderabad dug-out.
Bairstow’s onslaught helped SunRisers Hyderabad make the most of the first six overs as they raced their way to 0/57.
Jonny Bairstow was looking prime for a big score but an unfortunate incident in which he accidentally hit the stumps with his foot brought an end to his knock of 22-ball 43.
Since Bairstow’s dismissal, SunRisers Hyderabad have lost two more wickets in the form of Manish Pandey and David Warner, who got run-out while trying to go for a non-existent run.
At the time of writing, SunRisers Hyderabad were reeling at 3/92 after 12 overs.
