Ashes 2021-22: Watch - Marnus Labuschagne Solo Appeals Hilariously For Caught Behind When There's Daylight Between Ball And Jos Buttler's Bat

Australian cricketer Marnus Labuschagne is known to be quite the quirky character on the field, whether he is batting or fielding in the circle.

On Sunday, he took it one step further. Aussie skipper, Pat Cummins, was steaming in at full pace with Jos Buttler on strike. It seemed as though Buttler tried to have a shy at a delivery but replays showed he missed it by a huge margin.

Excited as ever, Labuschagne ran in from point to appeal loudly as the others watched on stonefaced. The commentators had a giggle about the situation and reckoned that the 27-year-old was almost ‘begging’ his teammates to join him in the appeal.

Earlier, the Day 5 of the Ashes Test was a testament to the fact that the longest format of the game is the best one. Starting on 30/0, England lost three wickets in the morning session and had no intentions of chasing down the 388-run target.

The second session saw a fightback from England’s experienced duo of Ben Stokes and Joe Root but the latter was dismissed in the dying moments before Tea. Needing six wickets in the last session, the Australians threw everything they had.

They managed to snare five wickets before Stuart Broad and James Anderson managed to avert the whitewash and played out the last three overs. The Englishmen finally showed some spine after an extremely disappointing Ashes series so far.
