Mustafizur Rahman has provided a much-needed breakthrough for the Rajasthan Royals as he broke the dangerous-looking 57-run-stand between Jonny Bairstow and Manish Pandey [31 off 20] by knocking over the latter.
It all happened on the first ball of the 7th over when Manish Pandey, in an attempt to flick the ball on the on-side, was undone by the change of pace by Mustafizur Rahman.
It was a slower cutter by Rahman who rolled his fingers across the seam of the ball.
Pandey failed to pick it and his attempt to whip the ball on the leg-side proved to be fatal as the ball ricochet off his pads to the middle-stump.
The wicket of Pandey came at a perfect time for Rajasthan Royals as the Karnataka batsman was looking in fine touch and along with Jonny Bairstow had smashed 57 runs in the powerplay.
Pandey’s wicket has been followed by yet another body-blow for SunRisers Hyderabad with Jonny Bairstow (30 off 21) holing out against Rahul Tewatia after the English swashbuckling mistimed an attempted heave across the line towards the deep midwicket region.
