It all happened during the 13th over of Delhi Capitals innings when Pant, after having nudged the ball on the on-side, set off for a non-existent run.
But Riyan Parag was quick to set off as he got to the ball quickly and hit bulls-eye at the bowler’s end. The TV replays were called for, but Rishabh Pant knew that he had been undone by a brilliant direct hit by Parag as he kept on walking.
The wicket of Rishabh Pant came at a crucial time for Rajasthan Royals as the swashbuckling wicketkeeper-batsman was looking in prime form and was threatening to take the game away.
Pant, who had come to the crease after Delhi Capitals had lost both of its openers in Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw, successfully weathered the storm after DC lost four wickets inside seven overs and laid into Rajasthan Royal’s spinners.
Pant smoked four boundaries in one Rahul Tewatia over and soon brought up his half-century in just 30 balls. But just as it looked that the skipper was warming up for a three-figure score, his innings was cut short by the brilliance of Riyan Parag, who dazzled with his ‘Bihu dance’ after his bulls-eye throw saw the back of the southpaw.
