Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson has once again flattered to deceive as he squandered another start courtesy of a pretty soft dismissal.
It all happened during the 8th over and the first over of the spell bowled by Washington Sundar.
Washington Sundar was welcomed into the attack with a monstrous six by Sanju Samson. The Royals skipper danced down the track and deposited the off-spinner into the deep-midwicket stands.
But Washington Sundar eventually had the last laugh as he dismissed him on the very next delivery. It was a pretty soft dismissal to be honest, as Sanju Samson, in an attempt to flick Washington on the on-side, proceeded to hit it straight to Glenn Maxwell at short midwicket.
The dismissal of Samson couldn’t have come at a worse time for Rajasthan Royals, who were already grappling with the loss of three top-order wickets.
Batting first, Rajasthan Royals got off to a disastrous start as they lost the likes of Jos Buttler, Manan Vohra, and David Miller with just 18 runs on the board.
Mohammed Siraj has proved to be the wrecker-in-chief as the right-hander knocked over the overseas duo of Jos Buttler and David Miller.
Sanju Samson played some sumptuous strokes during his 18-ball 21 but once again he failed to kick on. This is Samson’s third consecutive low-score after the 100 that he smashed on his IPL captaincy debut against Punjab Kings. Since then, his scores read 4(3), 1(5), and 21(18).
