Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018-19: Vinay Kumar to Lead Karnataka

The reigning champions Karnataka will be once again be led by R. Vinay Kumar in the upcoming Vijay Hazare trophy. The 50-overs domestic tournament will begin from 19 September. Meanwhile, KL Rahul and Manish Pandey will miss the tournament as they are on national duty for the Asia Cup. Fast bowler M.G Naveen has replaced pacer T. Pradeep who was part of the Karnataka winning team in the previous season.

Meanwhile, southpaw fast bowler S. Aravind played only two matches in the previous season. The Royal Challengers Bangalore medium pacer has taken over the mantle as the bowling coach.

Karnataka is the defending champions.

On the other hand, Mayank Agarwal is also part of the squad. Agarwal has been in prolific form with the bat. The right-hander had scored more than 700 runs in the previous season of the Vijay Hazare. Thus, the talisman will like to continue with his dream form.

However, it has been disappointing for Agarwal to not make the cut into the national team despite performing consistently at the domestic level. On the other hand, K Gowtham who has impressed with both bat, as well as the ball, find a place in the squad. All-rounder Stuart Binny also breaks into the state team.

Meanwhile, Karun Nair who warmed the benches on the England tour is also part of the Karnataka team. Karnataka will be coached by Yere Goud.

37 Teams will take part in Vijay Hazare Trophy and Karnataka is in Group A.
