In the second quarter-final match of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018 between Delhi and Haryana, batsman Gautam Gambhir completed his 21st List A hundred and helped Delhi win the game by five wickets. Meanwhile, Gambhir’s inning included 16 boundaries, as Delhi chased the target of 230 runs inside 40 overs.

Earlier in the day, Haryana skipper, Amit Mishra had won the toss and elected to bat first.
Haryana batsmen couldn’t start their innings well, as they lost their first three wickets within first ten overs. Meanwhile, Chaitanya Bishnoi and Pramod Chandila were the consistent players for Haryana, as they scored 85 and 59 runs, respectively.
Bishnoi had aced six boundaries and two massive sixes amongst the 85 runs he had scored in the match. Later, Gautam Gambhir gave the ball to Kulwant Khejroliya, who rattled the batting line-up by picking up six wickets, including a hattrick. However, Haryana had only managed to score 229 runs at the end of 49.1 overs.

While chasing down the target, skipper Gautam Gambhir and wicketkeeper-batsman, Unmukt Chand added 54 runs for the first wicket. Gambhir, who has been in brilliant touch added 118 runs for the second wicket along with Dhruv Shorey.
Meanwhile, Gautam Gambhir completed his 10,000 runs in List A cricket, and later went onto hammer his 21st List A hundred. Ironically, he had achieved both the feats on his birthday. Afterwards, Delhi lost five wickets but completed the chase inside 40 overs and stormed into the semi-finals of Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018.

Everyone talks about that six from Dhoni but Gambhir made it possible from the first ball! Contender for most underrated innings.
