The left-arm spinner, Pragyan Ojha has sustained a shoulder injury and will miss the remainder of the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018.

However, Pragyan Ojha had played 24 Tests and 18 ODIs for India.

Meanwhile, Ojha had signed for Bihar team and also named as the captain for the 2018-19 season. Moreover, Ojha didn’t have a good outing and had only managed to pick one wicket in the tournament. The team performed well in the competition and managed to place themselves on top of the table.

“Pragyan suffered a shoulder injury a few days back, and he is presently in Mumbai for further treatment,” Bihar coach and former India international, Subroto Banerjee told Sportstar.

Meanwhile, Bihar Cricket Association secretary, Ravi Shankar Prasad Singh confirmed the spinner would not be available for the remaining matches of the tournament, hopes that he recovers soon.

“We have already sent Kumar Mridul as the replacement for Ojha. He is consulting the doctors in Mumbai, and we hope that he recovers before the Ranji Trophy,” Ravi Shankar Prasad Singh said.

Moreover, Pragyan Ojha didn’t bowl a single delivery in the last match against Arunachal Pradesh. Keshav Kumar has to lead the side in the absence of Ojha.

However, Pragyan Ojha didn’t play for India for a long time. He had returned to Hyderabad last year after spending two seasons with Bengal. The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) is in the stage of grief, as Pragyan Ojha decided to search for more opportunities in this season.

In addition to that, Bengal initially refused to issue Pragyan Ojha a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to play for Hyderabad. Later, Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president, Sourav Ganguly interfered himself into it and resolved the issue.

However, Bihar is playing some excellent cricket in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and had won all the matches so far. They will try to put up the same show for the upcoming games and also wants to get the same result from their players.
