Finally, the speculations over the marriage of Team India skipper Virat Kohli and Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma has come to a standstill, as it has nearly been confirmed that the power couple has tied the knot in Italy in a private ceremony.
As per sources in Filmfare, the power couple tied the knot earlier in the morning. The ceremony took place amidst very close family and friends. It is expected that the couple will make the official announcement by 8 pm today.
The speculations of their marriage started when the Indian skipper asked for a break during the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka. Earlier a spokesperson of Anushka Sharma had denied their reports claiming it to be false. However, the duo never rejected the speculations neither did they confirm their marriage.
It was earlier learned that among cricketers only Sachin Tendulkar and Yuvraj Singh were the invitees in Italy and a lavish ceremony will be given by Kohli to his teammates on December 21 before India leaves for South Africa. As per reports, the occasion is expected to be held in Mumbai.
Kohli has been going through an amazing purple patch which has seen him already smash several records across all three formats of the game. In the past seventeen months, the Indian captain had smashed six double centuries in the longest format of the game while also breaking the record of Ricky Ponting by taking the 2nd spot for batsmen with most centuries in ODI cricket.
It is a much-needed rest for Kohli ahead of the tour of South Africa, as the captain had played non-stop cricket for the last couple of years and has been breaking records at will.
