Virat Kohli Attains 11th Spot On The Top 25 Global Instagram Influencers List; Wife Anushka Sharma At The 24th Position

It has now become a habit, precisely a regularity, for Virat Kohli to break and create new records both on and off the field. The Indian captain is now the highest-ranked Indian on the top 25 global Instagram influencers list.

This is revealed by a global data collection and analysis platform, Hype Auditor. The company ranked the top 1,000 Instagram accounts of the world on the basis of the quality of the audience and the authentic engagement. It considered celebrities who can drive in order to create awareness, empowerment, inspire people through their posts and presence on Instagram.

Virat Kohli is the highest-ranked Indian on this list. Prime Minister, Narendra Modi takes the 17th spot, followed by Kohli’s wife and Bollywood actress, Anushka Sharma at the 24 positions. Other Bollywood divas, Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone, take the 43rd and 49th spot respectively. The list is topped by Juventus and Portugal football superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Often regarded as the best white-ball batsman, King Kohli has a strong 83 million followers on Instagram; PM Modi has 50 million, and over 44 million fans follow Anushka. Ronaldo has the highest Instagram following of 245 million people from around the globe.

After losing the ODI series to Aaron Finch’s Australia by a 2-1 scoreline, the India team bounced back to win the T20I series by the same margin. The action moves to Adelaide for the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy which commences on 17th December.

The Indian team will be without their regular skipper, Virat Kohli in the last three matches. After the Adelaide Test, which is a day-night contest, the 32-year-old will return home to attend the birth of his first child with his wife, Anushka Sharma.

Hence, the right-hander will miss the following Tests in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane. His deputy, Ajinkya Rahane, will lead the side in these three games.
