Virat Kohli: 5 Players Who Made A Debut With Him
S Badrinath
There have been many talented batsmen in Indian cricket history. One of them is Tamil Nadu batsman Subramaniam Badrinath.
S Badrinath had tremendous batting skills that set him apart. For a few years, he also contributed well for Chennai Super Kings and also managed to make a place in the Indian team as well.
It is believed that S. Badrinath did not find the right place at the right time and he lost the place soon and today he is not active in any form of cricket.
Pragyan Ojha
Indian cricket has been known for producing quality spin bowlers from the beginning. After Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh stunned the world with their spin bowling, Pragyan Ojha joined the Indian side.
Pragyan Ojha also performed decent enough and established himself in Test cricket. But an injury hurt his career and he has not had a chance since then. Pragyan Ojha, who played his last match in the year 2013, recently announced his retirement from the game.
Manoj Tiwary
Manoj Tiwary, one of the most talented batsmen in Indian cricket, has played limited-overs cricket for India. Manoj Tiwary got a chance in the Indian cricket team before 2010 when he managed to make a debut against Australia.
Tiwary then got a chance again after about three years where he hit a century against the West Indies but soon he was thrown away from the team. Tiwary later played his last match against Zimbabwe in 2015. He has been playing domestic cricket for Bengal since then.
Manpreet Gony
Punjab fast bowler Manpreet Gony succeeded in playing a few matches for the Indian cricket team. By the way, Gony got recognition during the first IPL of 2008 while playing for Chennai Super Kings.
Gony made a place in the Indian team the following year based on his impressive performance in this IPL. But he could not retain his place and after playing a few matches, he was dropped from the team. Gony could not make a comeback after this and his career soon came to an end.
Yusuf Pathan
Whenever there is a discussion on an aggressive batsman in the Indian cricket team, everyone takes the name of Yusuf Pathan of Baroda. Yusuf was considered a very dangerous batsman who managed to play ODI and T20 cricket for India for a few years.
Yusuf had already made his debut with Virat Kohli. Pathan played as India’s leading player for a few years but since 2012 he has not got any chance as yet. He is currently playing domestic cricket for Baroda and his international career no longer seems a reality.
