Rashid Khan believes the wickets of Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and MS Dhoni were the best of his career.

Rashid had a prolific season for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. The leg-spinner scalped 21 wickets in the 17 matches he played for the Orange Army. Consequently, he was able to bamboozle the best batsmen in the business.

The Afghanistan spinner also received high praise from the former legendary batsman, Sachin Tendulkar. The Master Blaster went on to give a tag of the best spinner to Rashid Khan in the shortest format of the game. Moreover, Rashid was also awarded the best T20 bowler in CEAT awards.

Rashid was on Cloud Nine after receiving praise from Sachin.

Furthermore, Rashid not only took crucial wickets but also he held a tight grip on the proceedings. Thus, the SRH linchpin gave runs at an economy of 6.74.

“Getting rid of Virat (Kohli), AB (de Villiers) and MS Dhoni was very satisfying. In fact, I consider them the best wickets of my career so far. They are really good players of spin bowling so getting them out made it memorable for me,” Rashid Khan told Times of India.

Rashid Khan was over cloud nine after he received praise from Sachin Tendulkar. The 19-year old added he had no idea of what he should reply to the Master Blaster. However, Rashid finally gave his gratitude to the legendary batsman.

“When I got into the bus, a friend sent me a screenshot of the tweet and I was shocked to see it. I was thinking for like 1-2 hours before I could eventually reply. I really didn’t know what to write, but finally, I replied. The whole of Afghanistan seemed to have seen that tweet. Tendulkar is very, very famous there and everyone was surprised that he had such high praise for me. Statements like these motivate young players,” he added.

I am the second most famous person in Afghanistan, claims Rashid Khan.

Afghanistan cricket has shown an upward swing in their improvement graph in the last five years. They have come through the ranks to play at the topmost level. Rashid added playing Test cricket is a dream come true.

“It’s a big match for us as playing Tests is a dream for every cricket-playing nation. All of us who are selected for that match will consider ourselves lucky. After all, we will be making history. And, it doesn’t get bigger than the fact that we will be playing India in India,” Khan went on to add.

Rashid Khan has made a name for himself in the cricket world. In fact, he was the cynosure of all eyes in the recently concluded Indian Premier League. Rashid’s popularity has manifolded in the last couple of years.

The leg-spinner added he is the most famous person after Afghanistan President.

“As far as I know, after the President of the country, maybe, I am the person who is most popular in Afghanistan,” Rashid concluded.
