Team India skipper Virat Kohli can come across who do not get along with the authorities very well on the field.
The 29-year-old batting mainstay is often seen contesting decisions and expressing his emotions in respects to decision taken by the on-field umpires in particular. But off-the-field, Kohli shares a warm relationship with all his opponents and match officials, and the latest example was witnessed when Kohli came up with his heartwarming wishes for Pakistan-based umpire Aleem Dar’s new charitable restaurant.
The renowned umpire, Aleem has set up his own restaurant in Lahore, named ‘Dar’s Delighto’. A percentage of the sale proceeds will go into the construction of a school for ‘hearing impaired’ children who don’t have access to education in the country like Pakistan.
Dar aims to help such children to achieve their dreams as he feels education is the first step towards successful life.
In a special video for Aleem Dar, Kohli conveyed his good wishes to Pakistan’s umpire for opening his new restaurant. Kohli longed that his restaurant will be as successful as his international career as an umpire.
The restaurant had its grand opening on the 30th of December last year (2017). It is known for its Mughlai cuisine and has made food available at a reasonable price.
Dar also runs a cricket academy in Pakistan, which too tries to train children from backward socio-economic backgrounds, in order to help them make a career in cricket.
Kohli is currently in South Africa gearing up for the third One-day International in Cape Town slated for Wednesday. Concurrently, India sits comfortably at the top with a 2-0 margin in the six-match ODI series.
