Indian captain Virat Kohli has hardly refused to step up amid the ongoing challenging times that the country is dealing with. When the COVID-19 began exploding in India, Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma donated INR 3 crores to the PM-CARES fund for the welfare of the citizens. In one of his latest tweets, Kohli has lent his hand to the victims of the floods in Bihar and Assam.

India is rapidly leaping up to become the epicentre of the COVID-19 pandemic even as the United States remains on the top followed by Brazil. In the past week, India has recorded at least 50000 cases each day, taking its tally to 1500000. Sadly, that is not the only problem the sub-continent nation is enlaced with for now.

Continuous rains in Assam and Bihar have given rise to unprecedented floods in the states. The calamity has resulted in the loss of many lives while the livelihoods have been at stake as well. Not only human beings but the sanctuary of animals have been affected.

While the prediction remains that the situation will improve in the next few days, it would take long to restore to normalcy.

In the wake of this, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have stepped forward for the noble work. The celebrated couple stated in their tweet that they have continued to pray for the victims and concurrently support three organisations, who have engaged themselves in making lives better for them.

Virat and Anushka have also requested the common public to support the ones affected through these organisations according to their capacity. The three associations are Rapid Response, Action Aid, and Goonj.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli last played an international match back in February against New Zealand. The 31-year old underwent an underwhelming tour with the bat with India losing both Test and ODI series comprehensively. Nevertheless, he would return to competitive cricket in September to lead the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL that begins on the 19th of September.
