Virat Kohli has been a competitive cricketer who hardly gives an inch. Kohli likes to show his passion for the game through his aggression and has been successful with his natural game. Pakistan fast bowling legend Shoaib Akhtar likened Virat Kohli to himself and said they could have been best friends.

Akhtar was an aggressor as well. He liked to charge at the bowlers, was verbal, and often tested the batsmen with his bowling. Akhtar had a long-run and would steam in to bowl bouncers or fire yorkers at express pace against the batsmen. Both Akhtar and Kohli not only made name for themselves but also made their country proud.

Virat Kohli would have been best of my friends: Shoaib Akhtar

Shoaib Akhtar said apart from sharing similar body language as Kohli, they are both Punjabis and have similar nature, which would make them best friends. He also said that he has immense respect for Kohli even though he is a lot junior. Akhtar, however, said on the field he would have been the best of the best enemies with Kohli.

“Virat Kohli would have been best of my friends, because both of us are Punjabis and we have similar kind of nature, even though he is a lot junior to me, I really respect him,” Akhtar said on Espncricinfo Videocast with India cricketer turned commentator Sanjay Manjrekar.
