Former India opening batsman Virender Sehwag feels that current skipper Virat Kohli has the ability to break all the records, except one held by batting legend Sachin Tendulkar.
Meanwhile, since breaking into the international circuit in 2008, Kohli didn’t have to track back. He has broken a plethora of records, many of them which Tendulkar held previously. While everybody feels that Virat Kohli can break all the records, Virender Sehwag believes he cannot scale one of Sachin Tendulkar’s record.
Sehwag feels that Kohli cannot play 200 Tests matches and for him to achieve that he will have to play 24 years.
“Everybody has this feeling that Virat Kohli will break all batting records. I have also said this many times that he is meant to break all records. Just one record which I feel won’t be broken is playing 200 Test matches, which Sachin Tendulkar has set. For that, you need to play cricket for at least 24 years,” he said to AajTak.

Despite saying this, Virender Sehwag feels there is something special about Virat Kohli. Moreover, he also added that Kohli is yet to face downs in his career.
“Barring that Kohli might break all the records. Another thing which everybody keeps saying is the lack of good quality bowlers that Kohli is facing now. Other batsmen are playing against the same kind of bowlers but they aren’t scoring as many runs.

“There is something special about him which is why he is scoring runs consistently. I have played with players like Tendulkar, Ganguly, Laxman, Dravid. Even they had ups and downs in their careers. But Kohli hasn’t had that in his career till now,” Sehwag concluded.
Virat Kohli meanwhile took a break from cricket from the T20I series against Windies to keep himself fit for Australia tour. India will begin their campaign with a T20I game starting from November 21.
