The skipper of the Indian National Cricket Team, Virat Kohli has congratulated the women’s cricket team on reaching the final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020.

The Indian women’s team has qualified for the grand finale of the World T20 for the first time on Thursday as the semi-final game between India and England was washed out and the former qualified for the final by virtue of finishing higher on the points table.

Rain played a spoiled sport in the semi-finals as there was a torrential pour down at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Poised to be one of the greatest games of the tournament so far, the match had to be called off without even the toss taking place.

India had a great record coming into the semi-finals. They were the invincibles until now and had a 100 per cent winning record as they won four out of four games in their road to the semi-final.

The game has to be played between four times champion Australia and South Africa. South Africa have also won all their games so far while one of their games was washed away in rain against the West Indies.

Australia, on the other hand, have lost only a single game coming into the semi-final.

If the drizzle continues in the same manner, South Africa will qualify for the final of the tournament the way India did.
