On the third day of the third and final Test at Bidvest Wanderers Stadium on Friday Virat Kohli has surpassed his predecessor Mahendra Singh Dhoni in terms of most runs as the Test skipper for Team India.
The Delhi-based batting mainstay Kohli was, however, bowled by speedster Kagiso Rabada on 41 off 79 balls.
The right-handed batsman Kohli smashed six boundaries which further saw him copping a couple of blows on a surface which has demons in it and subsequently forced on-field umpires to discuss the dangerous surface.
When Kohli was batting on 40 in the second innings, he equalled Dhoni’s score before going past the four-year-old Test record with a single.
Driving force Kohli has been already delivering for Team India which further saw him shouldering the responsibility to lead from the front.
Kohli sits now at the top of the table among Indian captains when it comes to scoring runs.

After donning the white jersey against Windies at Kingston in June 2011, Kohli has featured in 110 innings which saw him collecting the highest individual score of 243.
