Virat Kohli is a Batsman Who I Rate Very Highly: Mohammad Yousuf

Pakistan’s legendary batsman Mohammad Yousuf is the latest hail Virat Kohli for his remarkable run in the international cricket. The all-time legendary cricketer rated Indian skipper quite high for his fast bowler like aggression with the bat.

Speaking to Pakpassion.net, the classy retired right-handed batsman termed Kohli as the modern-day legend, but at the same time ducked to compare the older generation to the contemporary world.

Yousuf feels that the Indian batting mainstay has been the perfect package of the batsman. He went on to add saying that he has a fast bowler like aggression with the bat which makes him different from the rest of the batters.

Yousuf further added the batsmen like Rohit Sharma, Joe Root and Steven Smith are also the greatest batsmen of the modern world. But, he rated Kohli as the best when being compared to all others.

”Virat Kohli is a batsman who I rate very highly. He’s in a different class compared to other batsmen of the modern era. Rohit Sharma, Joe Root, Steve Smith and Kane Williamson are also very high-class batsmen. Whilst these four are a cut above the rest due to their performances and class, it is Virat Kohli who I believe the rest should aim to copy,” Mohammed Yousuf said.

 

‘‘He is the complete package when it comes to batting. His aggression is second to none, it’s as though he has a fast-bowler’s aggression and mentality even though he’s a batsman. But what really makes him stand out from the rest is his fitness. I have never seen any Asian cricketer achieve the levels of fitness that Virat Kohli has,” he added.

The flamboyant batsman Yousuf further explained the Indian skipper already proved his ability to the world by scoring runs across formats. He also felt that there was only determination behind Kohli’s success as a player.

Mohammed Yousuf also mentioned the mental toughness of Virat Kohli which is making the things happening for him.

He also cited that the very rare sight of Kohli getting out for a low score is a hallmark of a great player.

”He’s the world’s top batsman, he has proven his ability, he has been consistent and he has scored all of those runs not through luck, but due to sheer hard work, determination and dedication. Look at his record and his statistics and those numbers don’t lie, they confirm what a world-class performer he is. But he has also proved that he is mentally tough, he has confidence in his own ability and it’s very rare that he is out for a low score and that is the mark of a great player,” he concluded 

However, Yousuf termed Kohli has already attained a great success to his name. He is currently leading the Test charts and on the way to achieve an extraordinary feat.
