Virat Kohli Reacts To Inhuman Killing Of Pregnant Elephant In Kerala

India skipper Virat Kohli has joined thousands of Indians raising their voice against the inhuman killing of a pregnant elephant in Kerala. In a shocking incident, the pregnant elephant lost her life after she was fed pineapple stuffed with firecrackers in Kerala.

The brutal incident of animal abuse took place in Kerala’s Palakkad district, which resulted in the death of the elephant while standing in a river. The Kerala Forest department has launched a ‘manhunt’ for those responsible for the death of the 15-year-old pregnant wild elephant, said an official.

People from all the corners of the country have been expressing their shock as well as grief over the heinous crime. Virat Kohli did not take long to raise his voice too as the batting ace stated that he was appalled to hear the news. He urged others to treat the animals with love, tweeting:

“Appalled to hear about what happened in Kerala. Let’s treat our animals with love and bring an end to these cowardly acts.”

Indian football team captain Sunil Chhetri also condemned the incident, tweeting:

“She was a harmless, pregnant Elephant. That makes the people who did what they did, monsters and I hope so hard that they pay a price. We keep failing nature over and over again. Remind me how we’re the more evolved species?”

Meanwhile, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has assured that strict action will be taken against those responsible for the killing the 15-year-old pregnant elephant.

“Strict action will be taken against those who are responsible for killing the pregnant elephant. Forest department is probing the case and the culprits will be brought to book” Pinarayi Vijayan, Kerala CM said on Wednesday.
