Virat Kohli Reckons Playing Test Cricket and Excelling in it is an Ultimate Job Satisfaction

Many believe the Test cricket is losing its charm, but few cricketers and fans absolutely love the longer version of the game. Though the Twenty20 cricket is literally injected into the DNA of youngsters, Test cricket is still surviving with bits and pieces. Meanwhile, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli bats for it.
Of late, a lot of debates on tinkering the Test cricket have been made. Few cricketers want it to be cut down to four days while few stalwarts suggested other minor changes. However, Kohli wants Test cricket to remain the same.

Kohli showered words of praise on Test format of the game. He called it the appealing format of the game and mentioned that he couldn’t see any changes to the five-day format.
Adding to his words, Kohli reiterated that the Test fold would give an ultimate satisfaction for any cricketer. Furtherly, he showed his excitement for the World Test Championship which is to get underway in the year 2020.
“I think that if you really understand the sport, if you really love the sport, you understand Test cricket and you understand how exciting it is,” Kohli told Wisden Cricket Monthly.
“I cannot explain to you the job satisfaction that you get when you do well in Test cricket, because you know how demanding it is. It’s the most beautiful format of the game. However, I don’t think it’s going to go anywhere. I don’t even see it getting compressed to four days. It should not be tinkered with,” he added.

The Indian skipper furtherly added that the upcoming Test championship is set to give a massive boost for the Test circuit.
Kohli feels that the championship will add the excitement to the format.
“I think the Test Championship is going to give a huge push to Test cricket. It makes every series more competitive, and there’s going to be ups and downs throughout the Championship, which I really look forward to,” he inferred.
However, it would be interesting to see how Test cricket would turn out shortly.
