Former India batsman Yuvraj Singh had raised a number of eyebrows with his message for Virat Kohli on his birthday. Yuvraj’s recent comments on the selectors and the team-management has made it clear that he did not retire from the game on amicable terms. Yuvraj also made it clear that he was not treated well by the team-management.

The legendary batsman revealed he was asked to prepare for the Sri Lanka series following the 2017 Champions Trophy and then to clear the yo-yo test to be eligible for selection. He had gone on to clear the fitness test but was completely shunned out of the setup. He did not got another recall and eventually retired in June this year.

“Suddenly I had to go back and prepare for the yo-yo test at the age of 36. Even after I cleared the yo-yo test, I was told to play domestic cricket. They actually thought that I wouldn’t be able to clear the test due to my age. And that it would be easy to decline me afterwards…yeah you can say it was an exercise in making excuses,” he had said.

Unsurprisingly, there were speculations that not all was well between the ex-cricketer and the Indian team-management. And when he posted a cryptic message to wish Virat Kohli on his birthday, it further fuelled the fire. Yuvraj had shared a throwback picture with Virat Kohli on Twitter and said, “Yeh bhi din they ! Aur ek aaj ka din hai ! Jahan bhi ho khush raho , God bless you always ! Happy birthday @imVkohli”.

After the tweet, the fans became busy in decoding the tweet. Well, their work has now been made easier by none other than Virat Kohli. The India captain himself took to Twitter to respond to Yuvraj’s tweet and made it clear that all is well between the two.

“Uparwaale ke diye sab din mehr hain paji. Rab rakha. Lots of love to you always,” wrote the 31-year old.

An avid cricket lover, I just love this game more than anything. Writing about cricket keeps me closer to the game.
