Virat Kohli Reveals The Name Of His Favorite Athlete
India skipper Virat Kohli has revealed Tennis star Roger Federer is his ‘ultimate favourite’ when it comes to sportsmen.
The Swiss player is ageing like a fine wine, winning trophies now and then to prove his detractors wrong. Earlier this year, he won his record 20th Grand Slam after bagging the Australian Open for a record sixth time. Last month, he also became the oldest player to achieve the number one rankings. And Federer’s age-defying performances and longevity are something that has left Kohli mighty impressed.
“Roger Federer is my ultimate favourite. When he plays it’s so beautiful. He has a family now, priorities set, he takes time out of the game without worrying about opinions and criticism of people and then he comes in and wins Grand Slams at 36, he is defying all the logic and that’s something I totally love,” Virat Kohli said.
“I hate following the norm and he is someone who is breaking barriers on a daily basis and I have huge respect for him,” the cricket superstar added.
Surprising revelation:
Meanwhile, the 29-year old also revealed that he could be annoyingly lazy when not playing cricket. The right-handed batsman is one of the quickest and characters on the cricket field. However, that swiftness takes the back seat when he is off it.
“I can sit and not move for hours. For all the energy that I may show on the field, when I get time at home, I can be a total vegetable. I can be very annoying because I do not move at all,” Kohli revealed.
The Indian batting star is currently spending some quality time with his family. He along with several other big names has been rested for the ongoing Nidahas Trophy in Sri Lanka. In his absence, Rohit Sharma is leading the team. India has already made it to the final of the tournament after winning 3 of their 4 round robin games.
